Description
The Port of Dandong is situated in the southeast of Liaoning Province and on the west bank of the Yalujiang River estuary, bordering on the yellow Sea in the south and adjacent to Dalian and facing Korea Peninsula across the Yalujiang River in the east. The Port has two port areas, one is Dadong port area and the other is Langtou port area. There are 10 productive berths in all, out of which there are 4 deepwater berths for vessels of 10,000 dwt. The annual throughout capacity is 2.25 million tons. <br><br> During the Eighth Five-Year Plan period, 3 berths (one of them can be used as a container berth) for vessels of 10,000 dwt and necessary port facilities were completed in the second -phase of Dadong port area with a loan from the Development Bank of Asia.
